Facing Gender Violence and Our Roles to Combat Sexual Violence Against Women: Community Engagement and Leadership Responsibility

There are globally assessed human rights abuses that afflict the health status of women and girls within the context of gender violence and sexual abuses. Despite numerous efforts from diverse sectors to combat the flaw, it cannot be denied that there is an obviously relaxed community and local government attitude towards eliminating or combating the prejudicial natures of such gender violence acts.Through a community inclusive model and leadership engagement attempt to effectively address gender and sexual violence worries, the author, Dr. Kelly NGYAH and CEO of Modern Advocacy Humanitarian Social and Rehabilitation (MAHSRA), in this manual, combines practical community action guidelines that ascertain and communicate the roles of all concerned societal parties towards the battle in correspondence with the principles of the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and the UN Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women.The manual also presents the opportunity through which all civil society and government authority parties are able to comprehend the contextual meaning and legal implications of involved terms, responsibilities and obligations within the practical sphere of gender violence and specifically, sexual violence against vulnerable community women.As well, while the principal objective of this publication is to raise awareness against gender and sexual violence practices, it also serves as a means to raise funds for MAHSRA’s community activities against gender violence.
